7.4 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Pakistan on 18th Jan

Very Near the borders of Iran and Afghanistan, an earthquake of 7.4 magnitude rocked Pakistan on late Tuesday, Jan 18, 2011. The heavy intensity of the quake shuddered India's capital Delhi, Jaipur and Dehradun and trembling felt in Dubai area also.

The temblor that occurred at around 2 am, jolted important of the major cities in the region, including Karachi, Quetta and Multan and strong tremors were felt in Lahore also.

According to reports, houses were damaged in Quetta area, capital city of Balochistan province.
Several houses collapsed or were damaged. But no casualties have been reported yet.

Pakistan faced the wrath of nature before the present as the massive flood paralised the entire nation and caused heavy loss.

First Partial Solar Eclipse of year 2011
